Time Flies when you're...having fun, working hard, volunteering, starting a new job, moving across the country and falling in love :)

So...it's been almost a year since my last post. The past year as been a whirlwind with so many changes and transitions, it makes my head spin!

For starters, I spent a A LOT of time in 2011 volunteering for an amazing not-for-profit organization. It was a very rewarding and enlightening experience. I met some really awesome people and formed what I hope will be lifelong friendships. I learned a lot about myself and gained a new perspective and outlook on my life. It's hard to articulate in writing exactly what changed other than to say I think I discovered a true inner strength...or at least something inside me changed and my priorities shifted. I don't want to get too personal on the internets...but overall it was all good stuff. I am so thankful to have had this experience and for the resulting changes in my life. 

I also got promoted and took on a new role at work which required me to move across the country. It's been a challenging transition and I miss my previous life BIG TIME! Not gonna lie...it's a pretty big role within my company and I've been reminded lots of people are counting on me so I hope I don't screw it up!

My favorite part of last year was falling in love with a very handsome young man. We had known each other for a few years and dated off and on and even had some drama while we tried to find balance between our friendship and our deeper feelings for each other. Again, I don't want to share too much personal details on the interwebs but it's been really fun so far and I am super happy. He's my best friend (well one of them anyway) and he knows all my dirty little secrets and yet still accepts me as I am. I think the below quote sums it up nicely :-)
